I had a dream last night… It was so real I thought I was awake…
My husband and I were looking out into the night sky… I had never seen the backdrop of the sky so pitch-black, it looked like a glossy, clean, shiny, velvet blackboard (the moon was no where in sight). The sky was full of stars, many stars, stars brighter than we had ever seen before. I started felling dizzy, or maybe the ground started shifting, I do not know which, I just know that I started swaying… My husband remained calm beside me, a little to the right; I knew if I fell back he would catch me, so I was not afraid.
As we continued looking into the night sky, I thought the stars were getting brighter and bigger, like they might burst, but they were not expanding in size, they were just shifting a little, one at a time, individually as though each star had a mind of it’s own (like snow flakes that are individually unique, like us, God’s little sheep that are individually unique in mind and in our own personal relationship with God). I sensed this to mean that all pretensions in our personalities will fade away in His Presence and we will be found each unique and individually equipped for works of service in His Kingdom coming.
Then, one star to the left (east) of our vision fell straight down, somewhat like a falling star, but different, it seemed to by-passed the earth, as though it had been attached to a flat surface (like a black velvet curtain). One by one, all the other stars started falling. I then passed out, unafraid, not knowing (not even caring) where I would land. Immediately before impact, I woke up, with my husband to the right of me, sleeping calmly. I was so relaxed, tickled even, as though Great Joy and Holy Laughter were bubbling up from deep within my soul and spirit (His Spirit was rejoicing with my spirit, as though we were One in mind and purpose). I was so relaxed, I instantly fell back to sleep and just this morning recalled the dream.
Matthew 24:29-30 – Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.
Matthew 27:50-52 – At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.
John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Psalm 147:3-4 – He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Isaiah 40:26 – Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Prayer: May God Bless you all our Brothers and Sisters In Christ. We can hardly wait to meet you all in His Presence and hear of all the wondrous things He has done in your lives.
(1) Who is uniquely equipping you for works of service?
Exodus 31:3 – and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts, to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.
Ephesians 4:7-13 – But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men”. What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe. It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Acts 17:24-28 – The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that man would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring’.
Think of a way in which God Himself is uniquely equipping you for works of service.
Prayer: It is True Lord, you do Love us and you have prepared a place of service for us all. Help us Lord to walk with Thee, help us to cooperate with the process and help us to receive the equipping you have in store for each of us. Help us Lord to know that You want everyone of us, and help us to know that we need each other, for there is so much work to be done in the Kingdom of God. In Your Will Lord, may we find the freedom we all long for, the freedom to move and have our being, in Thy Presence Lord and in the presence of others called by Thy name, In Jesus Name, Amen.
Being uniquely equipped for works of service starts with a determination not to cast our pearls before swine, a determination not to serve satan’s people; but God’s people. God’s people are God’s servants, God’s saints, those seeking, those wanting and those longing to cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through the Power and Presence of His Holy Spirit.
(2) Who are you not to serve?
Matthew 7:6-8 – “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Ephesians 4:14-16 – Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Matthew 6:24 – No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
Psalm 40:4 – Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.
Before seeking out our gifts of service, we must first ask for forgiveness and healing from the time spent serving something (money) or someone (false gods) other than God. Allow God Himself to heal you during your Personal Prayer time so we can move forward, into the business of serving God’s people, for God’s purposes, without bitterness nor hardness of hearts.
Think of a time when you served something or someone other than God.
Prayer: Dear Lord, May everyone gathered here today in Your Name, In Your Presence, ask and receive, seek and find healing for their unique place of service before Thee. May we continue to walk in Your Presence and be guided and directed by your kind and gentle hand until we come to know You as our Loving Father and Eternal Tutor, as You tutor us all so well, Thank You Lord, In Jesus Name, Amen.
God has put within us a desire for Him (His “Son”; our husband), a desire to serve Him, a desire to worship Him (as he rules over us so well). If we are not careful, we will be deceived and drawn to serve another master (satan) whose “sin” desires to have us. S”I”N verses S”O”N: Let us practice more at taking out the “I” (self) and putting in the “O” (others).
(3) Who gives you the desires of your heart?
Genesis 3:16 – To the woman he said, “I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you”.
Psalm 37:4 – Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 51:6 – Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
Psalm 145:18-19 – The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.
Genesis 4:6-7 – Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it”.
Think of a time when you were desired or sought after.
Prayer: Grant us Discernment Lord; Help us to know the difference between Your Love and the enemy’s hatred, since we are sought after by both in this fallen world. Help us to serve the Master whose “Son” desires to have us and in whose care we are very safe, even saved for eternity. Help us Lord not to be flattered by the master whose “sin” desires to have us and in whose care we are not safe at all. Help us to know You Lord, help us to follow after You and serve You only Lord, In Jesus Name, Amen.
Our desires are not safe with satan, for satan desires to kill, steal and destroy all of our dreams. As we give the Lord the desires of our inner most being, God Himself will take those desires and return them to us with the tools we need to cultivate “the garden of our desires”. But we must first give them to Him, so He can return them to us with all we need to work with as we witness our desires “spring forth” in due season.
(4) Who are you not to share your desires with?
John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Think of a desire you would like to keep safe with God.
Prayer: Lord, this is a precious desire that we have just shared with You. We trust it in Your care and with great anticipation we look forward to witnessing how, when like a boomerang You will return it to us. In the meantime, help us to endure with patience the training that must occur so we will be fully equipped to administer this gift when it is returned to us for Your Glory, with our greatest joy Lord, In Jesus Name, Amen.
(5) What are you not to desire?
Proverbs 24:1-2 – Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company; for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.
Romans 6:12 – Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
Romans 8:5-7 – Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
Romans 13:13-14 – Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
Galatians 5:16-17 – So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
Galatians 5:19-21 – The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
James 4:1-4 – What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
Jude 1:16 – These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantages.
1 John 2:17 – The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
James 4:7 – Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Think of an evil desire or regret you would like to share with the Lord.
Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank You for making a way for Forgiveness, In Jesus Name, Amen.
(6) What are you to desire?
2 Chronicles 1:11-12 – God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, riches or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have”.
Psalm 40:8 – I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.
Proverbs 19:21 – Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 19:22 – What a man desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar.
1 Corinthians 14:1 – Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.
Romans 1:11-12 – I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong; that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
1 Corinthians 1:7-9 – Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
1 Corinthians 14:12 – So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church.
Galatians 5:22-26 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
1 Timothy 3:1 – Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.
Think of a good desire you would like to cultivate with the Lord.
Prayer: May we offer all our desires, all our resources
up to The Lord in Personal Prayer, allowing our Faithful Tutor, our
Rabbi, The Mighty Craftsman to take us each day a step further in
skill, ability and knowledge into all kinds of crafts, for works of
service used to serve Him, by serving others, not just any others,
but “His People”, God’s People, those seeking a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ, those who are “for Him”, not those
who are “against Him”, not those who reject Him, not those who
hinder the work of His Spirit, but those who are “for Him”, “for
us”. May we find our place of service before those who are seeking
Him, wanting Him and desiring Him with all their heart, soul, mind
and body, In Jesus Name, Amen.
