Organizing into
groups of 10s is very biblical and an efficient and effective way of
giving each Group Member the time and attention they need to learn,
grow and heal spiritually.
Exodus 18:18-23 – You and these people who come to you
will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you
cannot handle it alone. Listen now to me and I will give you advice,
and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative
before God and bring their disputes to him. Teach them the decrees
and laws, and show them the way to live and the duties they are to
perform. But select capable men from all the people, men who fear
God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain, and appoint them as
officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. Have them
serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring
every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide
themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will
share it with you. If you do this and God so commands, you will be
able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home
satisfied.
Deuteronomy 1:10-18 – The Lord your God has increased your
numbers so that today you are as many as the stars in the sky. May
the Lord, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times and
bless you as he has promised! But how can I bear your problems and
your burdens and your disputes all by myself? Choose some wise,
understanding and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will
set them over you. You answered me, “What you propose to do is
good”. So I took the leading men of your tribes, wise and respected
men, and appointed them to have authority over you, as commanders of
thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens and as tribal
officials. And I charged your judges at that time: Hear the disputes
between your brothers and judge fairly, whether the case is between
brother Israelites or between one of them and an alien. Do not show
partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be
afraid of any man, for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case
too hard for you, and I will hear it. And at that time I told you
everything you were to do.
Note: Ten people, a minyan, is the number required by
Jewish law to have a kosher prayer meeting.
Zechariah 3:7 – This is what the Lord Almighty says: “If
you will walk in my ways and keep my requirements, then you will
govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a
place among these standing”.
Isaiah 9:6-7 – For to us a child is born, to us a son is
given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be
called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince
of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be
no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from
that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will
accomplish this (through us).
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His
one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but
have eternal life.
James 2:19 – You believe that there is one God. Good! Even
the demons believe that and shudder.
1 John 4:1-3: - Dear friends, do not believe every spirit,
but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many
false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can
recognize the Spirit of God; every spirit that acknowledges that
Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit
that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit
of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is
already in the world.
Matthew 16:13-17 – When Jesus came to the region of
Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the
Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say
Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But
what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter
answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus
replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not
revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven”.
Do you consider yourself to be a Seeker
or a Believer?
Who do you say Jesus is?
What would you say if God asked you:
“Why should I let you into Heaven?”
Prayer: God Bless You All, May you continue to enjoy and
experience growth and salvation while participating in this course
material, from The Throne Room of Grace, In Jesus Name, Amen.
